Problems with the Mac OS X version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

WordPress Themes

Postby TxRobin » 23. May 2011 18:16

I just installed XAMPP and WordPress 3.1.2 on my Mac running OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7. I was able log in to /wp-admin/ and I then went to install a theme via uploading and received the following error:

Code: Select all
Unable to create directory /Applications/XAMPP/xamppfiles/htdocs/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/05. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Is there something I need to change somewhere?

Thanks,

Robin

You can create the files manually and then make sure they have writable permissions.

It worked for me

pommykaine is on the right track.

Create the uploads directory manually, and make it read/write. I have had to do that on many localhost WP installs when I want to use the Media Library with monthly folders.

Good Luck
