ftp server

Postby MAGnUm » 20. November 2003 18:54

many ftp servers do not recognize .htaccess, nor do they allow you to edit them. so basically you cant do it unless you telnet/ssh into your box then u cna edit all you want. in this case windows is better since most of the ftp servers will let u do whatever you want with a file as long as it has a .something in the file name.

Hi,

what FTP Client are you useing?
Not quite right MagNum...
It's a Client Side Problem.
you can restrict hiddenfiles on the Server too,
but it's not aktivated by Default.

It's the client side, that needs help...

Hello,

If you get Smart FTP (www.smartftp.com) you can see them. Best of all it's free!
