Apache starts (sometimes) but then stops

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with Apache. I've installed everything OK but when I press start on the XAMPP control panel it comes up 'running' but then stops. Sometimes, but only sometimes, if I reboot it runs. Most of the time it turns itself off. MySQL starts OK.

I've only installed it yesterday. I have Windows Vista Sp2 32bit. I log on as the administrator.

As an aside I'm a complete begginner at this so when someone is kind enough to respond please treat me like an idiot!

Hi everyone,
Please ignore my post. I've solved the problem by reading the Vista problems section of the XAMPP website. It was Skype. Apologies if anyone has spent time on this. I told you I was an idiot!
