using XAMPP and Paros Proxy

Postby megos » 10. March 2011 14:40

Hi,

I am running the XAMPP Apache distribution and have a website in it that I wish to test using Paros. The address for the website is http://localhost/website. The listening port is 80. Paros listens in on localhost and port 8080. However it does not seem to scan this site when I visit it in the browser and login. Is there any way to get Paros working with XAMPP?

Thanks,
Megan

How did you set up the proxy in your browser? Some browsers have a special exclusion for localhost connections.

In Firefox under Manual Proxy Config, I set both HTTP and SSL to localhost and port 8080. Paros Proxy works fine with websites I visit, but if I point to http://localhost/website, it doesn't detect it.

Did you remove localhost and 127.0.0.1 from the "No Proxy for" field?
