plz help xampp install

I am old and new to this.
localhost dosent work. Unsafe site.

I thought is was the firewall but it was not.

XP pro SP3 and AVG free (AVG IS normally)

I dont know but I think I need a ssl certificate.

Where to get it and how to use it?

Drag into an open text editor to read the \xampp\apache\logs\error.log file for any clues.

SSL is enabled by default and to test click on this link or type in your browser:
https://localhost/xampp/index.php
Make sure that Apache and MySQL are running in green in your XAMPP Control Panel.
