Ok, I hope this thread isn't closed or too late to post but I still can't get my install.php to open. Your examples above have been a big help but in my case the install.php file is in C:/xampp/htdocs/tiffsite/ndxz_studio/install.php
Is it possible? If so what would I type in the browser? I have tried moving the install.php file out of the Indexhibit folder but it has to be in that folder.

I have tried http://localhost/install.php & http://localhost/ndx_studio/install.php & http://localhost/tiffsite/install.php

The last one results in:

Warning: require_once(defaults.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\xampp\htdocs\tiffsite\install.php on line 18
