Pear location and package install.

I installed Xampp on a windows box.

When I nav to \xampp\php\pear I see a second pear folder. What is this folder for? Why is there a pear folder inside a pear folder.

Also when i have to \xampp\php and do
pear install package where should it install ? the last package i installed went under \php\pear\pear\doc

Another package went under \php\pear\packagename

I would am just looking for a standard location where all packages should install so I know that i always just have to reference the same way in php like

include 'packageName/file';

That really did not answer my question as to why I have a PEAR file in side a pear while and why some pear classes install to the first pear child and some install to the /docs/ directory in the child pear folder.

then look at the rest of the folders -

then think about the question you asked.
