Access forbidden after logout.

Hey there.

I've tried to set up a server using a computer running Windows 7. I can access the pages and phpMyAdmin fine. However, if I login and logout, I t ry and visit http://localhost I get a 403 Access Forbidden error and dont know how to fix it.

Any help would be great thanks,

Mark

if I login and logout

do you mean a Windows Login/Logout?

and do you mean that if you are not logged onto Windows - you get a 404 ?? If so where (physcially) are you getting the error - on the same machine as a different user?

Last question (for now) - did you make Apache and MySQL services??

Cheers for the fast reply.

Yeah a Windows Login/Logout.

Nah when I return to windows with the same login, I get a 403. I've not tried as a different user but I assume as I'm not running Apache or MySQl it wouldnt be able to find it anyway.

I'm using XAMPP.

What do you mean by this:

2 questions -

when you are logged in and you launch the XAMPP Control Panel - what does it show?

what does the Apache error log say?
