Status = mySQL deactivated, phpMyAdmin works normal

Postby Herrie » 03. August 2010 09:32

I Installed xampp 1.7.2, previously I used an older version (1.6.8) to work on my joomla sites.
After installation I had problems with 2 sites, which I packed with Joomlapack, downloaded an extracted.
Ran the installation procedure, filled in all data correctly. but I cannot get on the site(s)

One of them gives my own '404' error page (situated on the live site), the other gives no erro just a blank page.

A locally built site, packed, and unpacked as well runs smoothly.

Looking in xampp's Status is tells me the mySQL database is DEACTIVATED.
However, when I use phpMyAdmin (root + pw) I can do whatever I want with ALL tables.

I run win XP, Kaspersky Internet Security, use EI8 as well as Firefox.

Anyone an idea?

(Since it was ok in the old version)

If you can administrate MySQL with phpmyadmin and without any errors, the Message MySQL is deactivated is wrong. You can ignore this message.
We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

Errorcode 404 has not anything to do with MySQL or any other Database, it simply means file not found (the URL points to an invalid file).
