XAMPP 1.7.1 and CLI support for MySQL functions

Postby rwolverine9 » 30. June 2010 20:25

Greetings and thanks in advance for any help.

Question is why can't I use the PHP CLI to run php scripts that access MySQL? I'll get errors about function not recognized for the mysql_connect or mysql_query etc.

I have seen elsewhere that php may not have the MySQL extensions in it and that if running the scripts through appache, the MySQL functions are handled by apache.

I'm running my 1.7.1 version of XAMPP on a CentOS 5.4 server should that make a difference.

Should I upgrade my XAMPP? or would someone point me in the direction of where i need to read something?

Great program! and thanks a lot!
