Have you verified that Apache is serving content? If you click the "Admin" button on the XAMPP control panel for Apache, or visit http://localhost/xampp is there a page displayed?

Look in this thread for the comments about http.sys

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=39218&p=156300&hilit=+http.sys+#p156300

Give that a try, backup your registry first, of course.

Provided that you installed in the default location C:\XAMPP (as an administrator)

You could check port 80 with ActivePorts (before you fire up XAMPP)

Nope I haven't tried ActivePorts on Win7 yet So I need to put that on my list for tomorrow or Weds.

After that, Well, I would just re-install. There's little to lose, and the stars may be with you this time.

Good Luck

About Activeport: Could you try running it as administrator? (Right-click, press "Run as administrator")
