Setting up Xampp for a Remote Dedicated Web Server

Hi,

I have been using Xampp as a localhost.. but now I'm about to launch my site..
and have a remote dedicated server to host it.

how do I install it as a remote server? is it thesame way as the localhost?

is the derictory structure still thesame?
the webdata residing on htdocs folder?

how do you configure it so that it can be accessed remotely using the domain name (instead of the localway: http://localhost/website)?
