Application error from USB in Win7-64

Hi...hoping someone can help a lowly newb.

Just installed XAMPP to a USB stick and Apache/MySQL started and ran just find. After a reboot though, I get application errors trying to start either of those. See image below. Thanks in advance for any ideas. I get the same message whether I'm trying to start Apache or MySQL:

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm still looking into it.

I reloaded XAMPP on a local drive partition and it's working fine...just the USB stick version didn't work. I'll wipe the stick and try again because I love the idea of the portability.
