How to restore files in htdocs folder that was uninstalled

Help! I uninstalled xampp and I need to know if it is possible to retrieve files the were saved within the xampp folder that was uninstalled? If yes, how?

I think you have to look for a window tool to undelete files / folders.

Have you backed up your files? If you did, you can restore your computer to an older version. (Only on Windows Vista and 7)

No, I didn't back it up before I reinstalled xampp. I've had a recovery program run on my computer, and no previous folder was found I guess it was overwritten. Thanks for your suggestions though!
