HTTP 404 error on mysql

i typed http://localhost on the server, it displayed 'It works'
But on the control panel of xampp, i press mysql > admin
http://localhost/phpmyadmin/

it returns

Are you sure, that localhost is pointing to your installed XAMPP Apache and not to another Webserver (IIS, another Apache...)?

Are you sure you have phpMyAdmin running? Just because Apache is running doesn't mean phpMyAdmin is. Check the XAMPP control panel.

phpMyAdmin is just a MySQL administration tool written mainly with php. It can't "run". It can only access or not access to MySQL. If MySQL isn't running, you can't access databases. That's for sure. But if this is the case, you don't get an error 404.

phpMyAdmin is just a MySQL administration tool written mainly with php. It can't "run". It can only access or not access to MySQL. If MySQL isn't running, you can't access databases. That's for sure. But if this is the case, you don't get an error 404.

Whoops, yeah, I meant MySQL. Okay, so if there's a 404, something is missing. Could you check that all of your files are there?
