mysql startet nicht

hallo zusammen,

ich habe XAMPP 1.7.3 unter Win XP SP3 auf einer USB Platte installiert, bekomme nach dem Setup (ohne Drive Letter) das mysql nicht gestartet. Im mysql.err steht:

InnoDB: Cannot continue operation.

Der Fehler 87 bedeuted ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER - The parameter is incorrect.

Das Problem tritt nur auf der USB Platte auf, auf einer festeingebauten Platte funktioniert es.

Wer hat eine Idee, wie ich weiterkomme?
