apache starting problem

apache starting problem

Hi all,
I installed xampp on my pc. os is win xp corporate edition.
I was using it without any problem.
But for last few days, when i click on start button in front of Apache on the control panel.
it gives message Apache is started.
But green running flag is no displayed.
and web pages are not displayed.
pl. help

Read the \xampp\apache\logs\error.log file for clues why Apache can't start - paste back only the [error] messages at about the date and time you attempt to start Apache, if you don't understand them that is.

Hello,
Thanks for the quick response.
The latest error from the log file is pasted below

(OS 10048)Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs

This message is saying that Apache can't start because there is another server using port 80.

Please read all about this error message in the XAMPP For Windows FAQ:

I applied the winsock2 fix and it worked.
