XAMPP 1.7.2 and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS?

Postby jda686 » 07. December 2009 20:31

Has anyone gotten XAMPP 1.7.2 running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS?

Did you run into any problems during the installation? If so, what did you do to work around the problems?

Thanks,

John

Let me know if you get any response about using XAMPP 1.7.2 on Windows 7 64-bit OS. From what I have gathered, XAMPP 1.7.2 has not been tested on Windows 7 64-bit OS.

I am operating on a windows 7 64 ultimate and have run into issues as well...

In order to run apache, I have had to have a 64 bit installer the xampp console does interface with it.

However I had to create a a virtual host <local host> in order to even get to the hotdocs it works index.html. When i try to go any further from the console (like admin) for apache instead of getting the splash screen I get a directory of what is in the folder. For mysql I get host cannot be found....

I am sure there is a work around. I think it will involve. directiong the 64 2.214 apache server to the xampp docs as its root folder. Not sure.
Any ideas with this would be awsome.

I am fairly new to this game and would love to become proficient.

Thanks,

Hey! I just installed XAMPP Lite v1.7.2 on Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bits), and after starting Apache and MySQL from XAMPP Control Panel, I have not ran into any problems (yet)

edit:
Forgot to say that I installed it on C:\xampplite (default location)
