Re-locating XAMPP to a Networked Server

Postby SorcererRed » 19. November 2009 18:24

Hey all. I'm new to XAMPP, but I LOVE it. I just finished developing a Test Site to test functionality of the site I'm producing.
I work at a school and want re-locate the entire site (XAMPP directory) to their server so the other staff here can test the site. I'm using Dreamweaver to make the site.

I was wondering how I go about re-locating the directory, if the Apache server and MySQL will still work.
Also how I change the testing server URL (localhost/"SiteName") when I move it.

May be you will find the answer here.
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html#1169
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/faq-xam ... ml#mvxampp

Although the above 2 files have been poorly written, they are still worth reading.

Search the forums in XAMPP for Windows for your answers to this question and look for keyword virtualhost.

The poorly written readme_en.txt file in the xampp folder may also be worth reading.
