Hi,

I was just wondering when a completely stable version of XAMPP is planned for roll out on Windows 7? That's all!

Thanks.

What's your problem with XAMPP?

I don't really have a problem yet...

It is just that I am a complete noob to this whole PHP / Apache / MySQL thing and I was really hoping to make a good start!

Having Googled about a bit I see that people with vast amounts more experience than me have been having issues getting XAMPP to run smoothly on Windows 7.

I was just hoping to avoid similar issues and make a good start when XAMPP says on the website that they are ready for Windows 7.

Am I being too cautious? Does it really matter?

Thanks.

have been having issues getting XAMPP to run smoothly on Windows 7.

There is IMHO no XAMPP problem specific to Windows 7.

(especially if you are running an official Windows 7 release and not an rc/beta version or or from a dubious source)

I have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate - it is a completely genuine 32-bit install (although the means of acquisition was somewhat nefarious - nothing illegal I might add!).

So would you advise that downloading:

http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

and install as per Vista?

Thanks for your help. Really much appreciated.

There is only one XAMPP for Windows. And if you have a Windows, regardless if 2000,2003,XP,Vista,7, you must use this package (if you want use XAMPP).

and install as per Vista?

The installation is the same for all Windows versions.
