installing xmapp for the first time

Postby wetwillie » 06. October 2009 19:17

I am brand new to xampp and want to use it for Joolma. When I try to confirm if it is working on localhost I get---
Access forbidden!
You don't have permission to access the requested directory. There is either no index document or the directory is read-protected.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 403
localhost
10/6/2009 1:58:36 PM
Apache/2.2.12 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.12 OpenSSL/0.9.8k mod_autoindex_color PHP/5.3.0 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0
I am totaly new to this and am not sure if it installed correcty or if I am missing something simple. It installed directly on my C drive. I removed it a couple of times and tried to reinstall, but I can't remove the entire program from my c drive. I also downloaded it to the program file folder and ended up removing it from that file.
Any info to a newbie like me would be greatly appreciated

Where did you put the Joomla folder?

Read the Apache error log file - C:\xampp\apache\logs\error.log
