APC gone in 1.7.2 ?

Hello,

it seems APC can't be used with Xampp 1.7.2 (or is not present). Is there any way to fix it?

You probably just need to get the extension DLL for APC on Windows... Not to sure though. All I know is that PHP 6 will have it in PHP by default (Enabled by default too IIRC)

It seems it's now using the php.ini inside the php directory.

php_apc.dll wasn't listed under the windows extension area, but php_apc.dll is in the ext dir.

I added "extension=php_apc.dll" but when I restart apache it gives the error:

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\xampp\php\ext\php_apc.dll' - The specified procedure could not be found.\r\n in Unknown on line 0

Uh duh.

I just realized since I installed 1.7.2 over 1.7.0 the php_apc.dll that I have is probably from the previous version so isn't compiled for PHP5.3...

I found this:

But it seems 1.7.2 uses VC6 rather than VC9. I don't know the difference, but it's enough to make it not work.

So apachefriends team, would it be possible to have APC back in next version ?

Or at least a way to get it in the current version of Xampp?

I'm also very interested in this. APC not working in 1.7.2 is not something I can live with (ok, I can, but I will pretend it's impossible ).

If anyone has a .dll that works, I will be thankful for all eternity.
