1045 access denied error on Brand new installation of 1.7

Postby Greg McNichol » 19. September 2009 00:53

Hi, I am going nuts. I installed the new package to use php 5 to replace one I had using php4 that ran perfectly. Now I cannot get to my database. I get 1045 access denied for user OBDC at local host usting password=NO.

I have read most of the other posts here. I do not have another version of mysql installed, no extra cnf.s or Ini.s (only those installed by xampp for mysql. also only on instance of mysql running in the task manager I have not messed with the configuration at all. I can see phpadmin from local host.

I looked at my connection code, and the only thing I changed there was to use mysqli ranther than mysql. Oh, the database is identical to the one I could get at using php4. sighs I am using root with no password just like I did before too.

I have spent three days trying to find this--I don't have a clue what to do next.

Surely someone else has had it too. Please help.

Thanks

No. The error message is telling you, that this PHP script is using no user for the connection.

It is using root for user. Is that not right? That is what I did before.

No. Your script is not using this user for the connection.

Thank you! I found it. I had changed my include file. It was a variable typo all along
