Slow initial response after 20-30 minutes

Postby smreka » 16. September 2009 16:15

Hi!

After the server is idle for about 20-30 minutes it takes it to load a simple image about 20-30 seconds, after that its like it wakes up and starts doing it at normal speed, really fast. This is really a problem, since it looks like the server doesn't work, if somone comes on it.

And it's only slow for the first person that comes, so its not reverse DNS lookup. And its even if link a simple image.

Any help appreciated!

have you checked your Energy Options in your System control Panel?
Maybe your HDD will shut down after some Minutes without interaction?

Just an idea

Checked that, I have it set to high performance, and I even went into the advanced settings and checked there and its set to never turn off HDD.

EDIT:

checked if this also effects images again, and it seems that only an image loaded normaly, but then I opened the homepage and it took about 15 seconds again. Might this be joomla related?
