Virtual Hosts 1.7.2

Hello,

I have the latest version of Xampp and I would like to configure virtual hosts.

I have done it before on the older editions but I am not having so much luck with the newer one.

Has anything changed? Are there any good tutorials you recommend?

No. Apache is working in the same way since Apache 1.x.

I need the format. All the online tutorials use clientA.local

i have no clue what that is.

Please do an Advanced forum search, select the XAMPP for Windows Forum and use keyword virtualhost, as there are many working examples for you to see what format is used for both of those files.

then what it means is that the search database is undergoing maintenance to remove all the fluff and dust that accumulates by it's not getting much use.

In the vhosts config file, do you put thedomainname.com in there?

It is usually only down for a few minutes and the last time I checked it was working just fine.

Paste here in a Code block your own C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file and C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\httpd-vhosts.conf file so we can take a look at it and then give advise if we can see where it may need to be altered.
