xampp running as https on linux and http on windows

Hi,

I have installed xampp on windows and linux.

On windows when I see http://localhost, it works fine but on linux https://localhost works.

Why do we have https on linux.

When I do the following linux

./lampp start

I get the message

Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7....
XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP5)

How can I start apache without SSL ?

Hi,

I have installed XAMPP on linux. By default ssl is working so when run https://10.0.1.66 it shows xampp screen.

Now I stop ssl by /opt/lampp/lampp stopssl, but http://10.0.1.66 doesn't work.

Please help me in this regard.

Hi,

I have installed lampp pn linux and stopped SSL. But I am getting the following error

"425 Http Error - Unable to connect with remote host"

When I install xampp on linux, the https://localhost works but http://localhost doesn't work.

I tried doing

#./lampp stopssl
#./lampp stop
#./lampp start

Even then http://localhost does't work

Why does https works and http doesn't work on linux ?

have a look at yout httpd.conf is there a SSLRequireSSL?
