Help with Xampp

Postby johnnyg_ro » 04. August 2009 10:51

Hy, I`m sorry, im really new to xampp and using servers and php.
I installed Xampp and i really want to know where to put my webserver files ( im using dragonfly) in order to properly work. I am using an external domain ( from no-ip.org for example) and i redirected to my computer. But when i acces from that domain, from internet, it opens the default xampp page instead of opening my sever pages.

Please help.

( im using dragonfly)

Hm, There is no XAMPP for DragonFly BSD. (And that's the forum for XAMPP for Windows)

Besides of this:
i really want to know where to put my webserver files

Into the DocumentRoot, which is "C:\xampp\htdocs" in XAMPP for Windows.

Im sorry i ment im using dragonfly to make the site ( not bsd, it`s about CMS )

Yes, i tried and did that, but when i point the domain to my pc, it opens the default page of xampp, instead of opening the index from my site director. So, this means i must change something about the path, didnt i?

instead of opening the index from my site director.

So your site ("index.php") is in "C:\xampp\htdocs\sitedirectory" instead of "C:\xampp\htdocs"?

Well, if you only use "http://yourdomain/" in your browser, how should your browser know if you want see the "sitedirectory" or "sitedirectory2" inside your DocumentRoot? ("http://yourdomain/" is always only the DocumentRoot)

"http://yourdomain/sitedirectory" should work for you.

(an other option is to work with VirtualHosts)
