At bottom left, click to Start.
Choose Run...
Type services.msc
Find Apache2.2
Right click to Apache2.2 and click to Stop.

Problem solved :P i hope.

• XAMPP control panel -> Click SCM or Computer management -> services

• Select apache2.2 /MySql and right click
• From the drop down menu, select start or stop. Or you can Change the stat up type from automatic to manual in the properties

I am getting this very same problem in MySQL. It appears that MySQL is not running as a service in the Windows services panel. It is running in the Xampp control panel and when I click "Stop", it says:

...Busy...
...MySQL stopped.

However, it continues to run in the control panel and the control button will not switch to "Start".

How can I stop MySQL when it is not running as a Service?

I am a newbie and this is not good for my ego.

Thanks, mateys, in advance, but I need help.
