If you already have a webserver running on your machine, it has PHP installed, and you know where the webserver’s top-level document directory is, you can try running the script in Figure 14-6. To do so, put the files longWait.php, shortWait.php, and Fig14-06.html in a directory named boj, and put that directory in the top-level directory of your webserver. Then browse to http://localhost/boj/Fig14-06.html. If that doesn’t work, try http://127.0.0.1/boj/Fig14-06.html.
I unzipped xampp-win32-1.7.1 to C:\xampp (without install). Where could I put the boj folder with the files? Which is the top level directory? I tried putting it in C:\xampp\boj but I just get a Object not found! error in my web browser. This is probably a very obvious answer but I'm new to this stuff so I would appreciate any help.
I have a second question too. When I start XAMPP Control Panel it says "Install Directory: ***WARNING: Directory mismatch.***" but if I type in http://localhost/ in my browser everything works fine. Is this normal? Why do I get this error and how do I fix it? Thanks.
