apache and mysql busy??

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

apache and mysql busy??

i down loaded xammp software it installed correclty

and was succesful in strarting the apache and my sql got as far as mysql admin ....

was happy thought too my self will leave the rest till tommoro

trys too start apache and mysql the nxt day and says the ports are busy

is this common or have i done some thing wrong

ive uninstalled the program and re-installed it still the same

says the ports are busy.............................. :cry:

What version of XAMPP?
What version of Windows?

What says the ports are busy as I can't see from here?

its version 1.7.0

my operating system is windows vista home premium

av now resolved the problem

apart from a cant load this page

php boards/forums say its an apache problem :roll:

i need some help please guys as a need some knowledge of wat am doing here as im going advanced hosting on my phpbb forum and need too learn how to copy my existing forum over :arrow:

and this is commencing tommoro around dinner time

i know get dll errrors and dont have the mysql service and cant find any of the web pages and i didnt even touch any thing just restarted my pc :shock:

skype bloxks port 80 for some reason

so now sussed just lost mysql admin and stuff

so im assuming vista that they need too do a new version of xampp to run properly with vista :?:

No.

and still cant get into mysql security or php install this

It's just changing two lines in one file. I guess that's what you can read in the other thread?
Removing "::1" in your HOSTS file might be also necessary.

Can you access the normal demopages with "http://localhost/" or "http://127.0.0.1/", and are these working?

Well, so XAMPP (Apache/MySQL) is working.

And for the problem with the security page, you have found the answer in the other thread. Solved?
