localhost - page load error

Postby Mariachr » 29. March 2009 17:11

Hi, ive installed xampp and apache and mysql are running ok !But ive got 2 problems:

1. when i open localhost it gives me an error: page load error. The connection was refused when attempting to contact 127.0.0.1.Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

Though, when i enter 127.0.0.1 it opens the xampp page !

2. when i try to create a database it gives me an error 1044: access denied for user @localhost to database. do i have to enter a username and a password? and where do i do this ??

Can ANYONE help ?

Thanks in advance !

1. viewtopic.php?p=139162#p139162

2. See if the above fixes it, if not post back but first make sure that MySQL is running and you can access the CD Collection demo and phpMyAdmin, without error.

Try going to http://localhost/security and create a password for super user root for mysql and phpmyadmin - readme_en.txt file "A matter of security (MUST READ!)"
