Installing Apache 2.2 Service Failed

Hello!installing XAMPP for Windows error message: Ports 80 or 443 (SSL) already in use! Installing Apache 2.2 Service failed!How can I fix this error? Operating System Windows Vista / Opera 9.64

I take it you are trying to install XAMPP version 1.7.0 is that correct?

In the xampp folder run xampp-portcheck.exe and see what is hogging those ports.

You should be logged in to Vista as an administrator and have UAC disabled.

The usual culprits are Skype and/or the Vista web server IIS.

Tell me please how to release the ports? I have disabled UAC, disabled firewall, I was disconnected from the Internet.
