Why can't I connect to http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1

OK yes i did find these options within the control panel only after I switched my control panel to "classic view" (without classic view there were no folder options displayed) then I was able to make the change and now I can see the "etc" folder

There have been some issues with the installer version of XAMPP 1.7.0 in XP that have been fixed by doing a full uninstall of XAMPP then a reinstall either with the installer version again or using the zip or my preferred version the 7zip self extracting exe file


I have reinstalled using your version and apache and mysql are running much cleaner now but I still have the security cert problem with IE. I have a question in another topic thread on how to change my default browser to IE.

Just to follow up with this thread. The reinstall of 7zip works great. I also switched my default browser to mozilla and no problems with security certificate. THanks again!
