New XAMPP version for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X

Announcements and news about XAMPP and the Apache Friends project.

Postby Oswald » 01. December 2008 08:32

Hi ivanusto!

We are currently working on XAMPP 1.7.0 with Apache 2.2.10 and MySQL 5.1.30. I hope we can release the first beta within the next one or two weeks.

Greetings

For the new version, would you please fix the XAMPP Control Panel? I, as well as another poster in the forums, have found it bugged. Today I opened the Control Panel and could only start 3 of the 4 services.

Hi tokyobaka!

Thanks for that hint. I just uploaded a new Linux beta with 5.2.7 to our BETA page. See http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-beta.html

The Windows version will hopefully follow soon.

Many greetings
Oswald

Off-topic, but not sure where else I could say "nice site update". Maybe it's olde news, but I am a bit slow. :) Someone has to say thank you already.

Thanks, LooseCannon! :)

Kudos to the folks from phpBB who were making the upgrade process from phpBB2 to phpBB3 so easy and seamless.

BBCode is off so no [quote]quote[/quote] available.

Hello Oswald,
Not sure if everyone is having trouble with the most essential part of the forum - Search.

No matter what I search for or how I configure the Search function of the forum I get error messages like:

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: virtualhost.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards."

I can't even search the forums to see if this subject has already been discussed. ;) <--BBCode Off

Thanks and regards,
Sharley

Searching

[off-topic again]

Same as Sharley.

Real pain ,,, was just about to suggest someone searched for something (basic vhost stuff) that's been dealt with repeatedly.

[/off-topic oh the shame]

Hello Oswald!
Thank you for the betas. Unfortunately it seems there was a problem with PHP 5.2.7 (not my fault, I promise!). It was removed from distribution and now PHP has uploaded 5.2.8 yesterday.

Regards
tokyobaka

PS: Same problem with the new phpbb, any words I try are flaged "too common"

@ Oswald,

Note that PHP 5.2.7 has been removed from distribution due to a security issue; new version 5.2.8 is out and the problem is fixed. See "http://www.php.net" for more info...

Apache 2.2.11 and phpMyAdmin 3.1.1 for windows exist.

* MySQL 5.0.67 and MySQL 5.1.30 ? because MySQL 5.1.30 bug, look on WWW.
===> by default 5.0.67 version.
