upgrading mysql

Hi,

I'm using the latest version of xampp on windows (32). I would like to upgrade mysql to 5.1.3, because of the events that are enabled in that version.

I downloaded the latest version of mysql (unzip package) and copied the files in the bin folder to the mysql/bin folder under the xampp dir (after shutting down all services). But MySQL doesn't work anymore. When I use xampp-controle to start mysql, it doesn't start.

Does anyone know about this issue? What is the best way to upgrade mysq within the xampp package?

Wait for the next XAMPP upgade. It should come in the next 1 or 2 weeks. (betas a little bit earlier.
