Apache Help

When i try start Apache it says
'ERROR : Apache Service Not Started (-1)'

So i went back into the folders and started up the Apache Start.bat and it said
'<OS 10048>Only one useage of each socket address <protocol/network adress/port> is normall permitted. : Make_Sock: Could not bind to adress 0.0.0.0:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down'

I'm completley new to all of this so if anybody can help it would be great

do you use skype ? sounds like somethings using port 80, you need to stop it and apache will run

Ah, thanks. I've done that and now when i start apache_start.bat it says

Apache 2 is starting...

But then nothing else, i suppose that's better then all the errors i was getting before but it still won't work.

run the xampp-portcheck.exe file in the xampp directory and see what it says to you about ports being used
