Hi guys

This is the error message that appeared when i start apache on Windows98SE

Apache -DONE_PROCESS as suggested I get the following error
[crit] (OS10038) Socket operation on non-socket: make_sock: for address

Your Port 80 is already in use. You should check what programm's using it and shut it down or alternately check your firewall, or you'd have to run apache on another port!

what i am thinking

Postby MAGnUm » 21. October 2003 02:47

Since you already installed apache WebServer before you installed wampp, maybe your original install of apache is still installed and configured to run as a service. that would seem to be the cause if on 2k or above, but u r not so maybe your previous install is starting when u boot your computer. to see if this is true hit "Ctrl-Alt-Del" to bring up the end program dialog thinger as soon as you cold or warm boot your computer and look for apache in the window if its there then i will go further with this answer or somebody else could, if not ?. :?:

Postby mdesouza » 26. October 2003 14:20

Magnum

I did installed apache 2 first , but then i uninstalled apache2 and installed xampp.

Unless when i unistalled apache2 ,it does not do a clean uninstall.

I am going to thrash my windows 98 and install XP and see what happens , I know i am a defeatest but jey i spent enough time on this problem , will get back to u to see if i can get it to work with XP

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP GUYS
