Too much permission

Postby quali74 » 26. September 2008 10:53

Hello

I have installed XAMPP. I have installed my web folders in a virtual directory and it works fine.

In my site,I use smarty and I upload files. For this to work, I did not have to change permissions to my folders. It just worked which is not what should have happened. I should have had to modify some access permissions.
I would like to put in place a bit of security and only writting permission to some folders . not all of them. How do I do that?

In the past, when I was running IIS, I know the IUSR security permissions were the ones change. But now, I don't know with XAMPP.

Apache doesn't really understand and use Windows permissions (ACLs) like IIS.

You can try to start the Apache service with a specific useraccount and setup file/folder permission for that user.
