Xampp and DSL

Postby Romay » 05. July 2008 22:50

Hello All,

I would first like to say Hi to all, and second ask for some assistance installing Xampp current version into DSL (Damn Small Linux) current version, during the install I get quite a few errors twords the very end stating (not all included due to typing them out):

tar: lampp/var/run: Cannot mkdir: no such file or directory lampp/RELEASENOTES

and

tar: lampp/libexec: Cannot mkdir: No space left on device

I have hda1 which is 5 gigs holding the DSL image, hda3 which is 5 gigs for holding extensions, and hda2 which is a 5 gig swap file. I am installing it running as SU. Any help will be greatly appricated, if any other info is required please feel free to pm or email me.

No space means no space.

No. The forum is the right place for questions and answers.

Xampp must be installed to /opt:

Where is /opt mounted?
What tells "df /opt"?

So /opt is mounted to ramdisk (which is limited by RAM size) and neither to any harddisk. Thats the reason for "out of space".

SOLVED

Postby Romay » 07. July 2008 00:48

Hello all,

I figured it out, I wiped it out and started again. I created hda1 and a swap hda2 installed to hda1 worked without a problem!!

Thanks again to all,
Roger Mayers

I have a netgear super wireless ADSL Modem router how do i connect a home hub as an access point? The netgear is wired to my desktop, and i want to use my home hub 2.0 as an access point but only one router allows broadband to work at once, my netgear runs fine but when i turn my home hub on the broadband light doesn't turn on on the hub how can i make both work at the same time.
