Ajax is a part of JavaScript Implementation - does your browser run on a webserver?

I don't think so. But you should be able to use e.g. mod_aspdotnet or mod_mono together with XAMPP/Apache.

(Maybe a XAMPP user want contribute to the project and provide a ASP.NET AddOn...)

and Ajax

That's beyond the scope of a webserver package like XAMPP.

It's the part of the webdeveloper (you) to write the server side code for Ajax requests handling. And of course the JavaScript code, which is executed in the users browser.

Well, most developer are using a "ready to use" Ajax framework, in a scripting language of their own choice (Perl,PHP,Ruby,...). We don't know, which one you want use.

(BTW: PEAR::HTML_AJAX is allready part of the XAMPP package)

I all ready run a web site w/ Apache 2.2.6 and ASP.NET 2.0, it just doesn't support Ajax. And I have no idea on how to setup Mono..

Well that more then likly will be nothing but a dream.

Well I do use and have use PHP and html on my main web site. But my Home page is ASP.NET 2.0. I was hoping that Xampp would support ASP.NET 2.0 and Ajax. So I could Uninstall WD 2.0 and install Xampp and use that instead of WD 2.0

This advantage haversack includes an connected ASP.Net 2.0 GridView with simplified abutment for allocation and paging, and an connected TextBox advantage with built. That's above the ambit of a webserver amalgamation like XAMPP. It's the allotment of the webdeveloper (you) to address the server ancillary cipher for Ajax requests handling. And of advance the JavaScript code, which is accomplished in the users browser.
