Apache not running after installation

Postby InterSign » 23. April 2008 02:10

Hi, I have Xampp-win32-1.4.16-installer version installed to learn the Zen Cart with the e-Start book. Apache is default disabled. It can be enabled. Than if you click on start Apache shows for a second (green) running.

Then I did:

1: Edit the file <xampp-home>/apache/conf/httpd.conf
2: Listen 8080
3: ServerName www.example.com:80
4: Go to your web browser and type the URL of your Apache with the port number.
http://www.example.com:8080/

Disabled Panda and Vista 32 firewall. All made no difference.

What needs to be done to get Apache running?
Thanks for your help!

Then I did:

Revert your changes to the config files.

What needs to be done to get Apache running?

Start Apache with "apache_start.bat" and read the error message.
