localhost pass word

Postby samsin1 » 22. April 2008 01:04

I have set up xampp but when I try to test it by typing http://localhost into my browser, it requires a user name and password. I never set up a user name and pass word. Does anyone know what these are? Thanks.

There is no default password in a new XAMPP installation.

Maybe it's not XAMPPP which you access in your browser...

I know, I have used xampp in another computer before. But when I type http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1 it brings up a sign in window. Also, on the installation, it told me that apache could not use port 80 because it was being used. I think that is the problem. Do you know how I can find out what port apache is using. I have started it by hand. Thanks.
