Postby linksys7 » 11. February 2008 00:21

Does anyone know if the php_mcrypt.dll was compiled with php cause ive tryed to load the module but it simply doesnt want to load. The file is in the extention directory and the extention path is correct in the .ini file, I'm at a lost here...any help?

Ive downloaded the libmcrypt package earlier but was unsure if this was already part of the XAMPP package, so I didnt do anything with it. So do I need to compile libmcrypt before placing it in the apache\bin directory? or just place the entire folder contents in there?

sorry Im a little new yet to all aspects of apache and php

Well i took a look after i posted this, and the libmcrypt.dll is in the apache \bin folder already and im assuming it was already compiled and included in the XAMPP installation. So my question resumes, how do I turn it on? ive uncommented it in the extentions section of the .ini file and the path is correct too. both files php_mcrypt.dll and libmcrypt.dll are where they are supposed to be. but its not loading...

Figured it out finally

I was looking at some of the other post and came across one that did the trick, apperently I was not changing the correct .ini file. I was changing the one in the php5 & php4 directory instead of the one in the apache\bin folder (which I didnt know was there) but I changed the correct one and all is good now, thanx very much for your attempted help, it was greatly appreciated.
