OS X Leopard, most recent XAMPP build.
I had everything working just fine with XAMPP and its components for about a year until I decided to fix that little security issue of not having a root password. After I added a root password, phpMyAdmin and MySQL both complained about not logging in properly, or having connections rejected, and sent me searching the message boards here for an answer. I found one; or so I thought: change the config files to reflect the new password. Duh.
Except it didn't work.
I reinstalled XAMPP, and things are better without the root password being set (other than for this computer), but I'm still having no luck with PhpMyAdmin. Here's the error message generated by visiting localhost/phpMyAdmin, and following that, the error from the error_log.
phpMyAdmin - Error

Can anyone in the world help me? I'm just trying to get my work environment working again so I can catch up on the work I've missed as a result of this. I'm at my wit's end.
Thanks!
