Run from ISO?

Does anyone know if anyone has, or is possible, run XAMMP from an ISO mounted under win32 with development pages, (virtual directories), databases on HD?
This could offer some advantages. The ISO can be read only, yet edited as new pages are completed. Size is not a consideration and somewhat portable between systems. I tried this with AMPstart but result was "0". Nothing happened, peroid.
