I'm trying to install XAMPP on my Mac and the instructions are calling to enter a script into a Linux shell, I'm not quite sure how to do that?

You try to install "XAMPP for Linux" or "XAMPP for Mac OS X" on your Mac?

In the Mac OS X install instructions it tells you to run a script in a terminal, I'm not sure how to do that??

Open a terminal and enter the command at the prompt.
