A few computer questions before i install Xammp

Hello,

I know Xammp for a long time but i never installed because i always wirked with scripts online,via my website.

My question is,i have a lot of software installed and like to think i run a clean computer as well (winxp pro),secured by symantec.

can i install Xammp on my computer without worrying if it will effect my computer in a negative way.
Anything i should know ?
All advice in this is appreciated.

XAMPP won't harm your computer - go for it.

Use the latest version or if you will be using perl please read the notes at the top of the XAMPP main page and the red note on the Perl Addon at Apache Friends before deciding which version to use.

There are already millions of users who are enjoying its benefits.
