help auto-start services

with older versions of xampp, a single batch file was run,
installing all services (apache, php, mysql, etc), and
no DOS prompt windows stayed visible indefinitely.

now, with the newest version, when i run the setup batch file,
the dos prompt stays visible even after installation is complete
and when i restart the computer, i have to call start_xampp.exe
to get services running again.

does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can install,
restart the machine, and have the services (xampp) start automatically?
keep in mind, i would like to automate the process as much as possible.
full version or lite version... does not matter to me.
