PHP/Vista - CLI has stopped working

Postby emartin24 » 03. September 2007 21:06

I downloaded and installed XAMPP today. Everything was working fine until I tried running PHP from the command line.

The same issue is described in the following blog:
http://web2.0entrepreneur.com/31/cli-ha ... vista.html

However, I'm running PHP 5.2.3 but am still getting this error.

Any ideas?

I don't know much about php\Vista issues but I have seen others post on the forums that running as administrator often fixes XAMPP issues.
Might be worth a try if you have not already done so.

Take a look at the new DeskTopXampp launch control posted by ridgewood:

The DeskTopXampp launch control for XAMPP and XAMPPlite (DTX.exe)
is available here:
http://zedfiles.com/DTX/

I highly recommend DTX.

Thanks Izzy - I've disabled UAC and installed xampp as administration - still no luck...

I've also tried the installer vs zip - same result.

Does anyone else have this environment?

Windows Vista Ultimate
XAMPP 1.6.3a

Try running a php script from the command line...

I was able to get it working by commenting out extension=php_mysqli.dll in php.ini.

Code: Select all
;extension=php_mysqli.dll

It must just be the mysqli module in this version...I replaced it with the 5.2.4 version and everything worked with mysqli enabled...
