Xampp and starting page

Postby docpap » 22. August 2007 07:49

Hi everybody!

I've a problem with the wellcome page in Xampp. I install the program and, for a few days, everything goes OK. But after a while when I try to connet to local host the wellcome page (where you can manage, ie, phpMyAdmin) does not appear! :-?

I've tried to reinstall Xampp (doing a back up before), I put the back up files in their folders, everything goes ok for a few day then...the wellcome page desaper again! :-O

HELP, pls!

Tks a lot in advanced,

nice day

Paolo

it could be that the apache hangs up...
what about the event viewer of windows?

look at your apache Directory in /logs/error.log an post it.

how do you run the apache? as a service with an automatic start at booting windows? or by opening the apache_start file?

hm...
manually from the control panel?

well, i need the log file from when the apache won't start...

every time you run windows, you need to start apache when it's not installed as a service.

when you are at the point again, that the apache won't start...
open the "prompt"
-> start - run - cmd
and go to your xampp directory -> e.g. type: "cd c:/programs/xampp"
then type: "apache_start.bat" and copy & post if errors appearing.
there you can see why apache wont start.

there was a misunderstanding: apache always starts!

The problem is taht when I write in the address bar http://localhost the xampp page (with the menu for security, phpmyadmin, ecc. on the left) does not appear.

apache, mysql, php work whit no problem, but I'm not able to reach myphpmyadmin for manage db :(
